What is confirmation? The meaning is in the name – it is publicly confirming or embracing promises made at your baptism.

On Sunday 1 July 2018 at 10.30 am, the Rt Revd Dr Graham Tomlin, Bishop of Kensington, will be presiding at the Sung Eucharist and Service of Confirmation at St Luke’s, during which we shall be presenting a number of adult and youth candidates to be confirmed.

Confirmation marks the point in the Christian journey at which adults or children decide to affirm for themselves the faith into which they were baptised and their intention to live a life of committed discipleship within the church.  We have been delighted this year by the many candidates who have already expressed an interest in taking this significant step in their faith journey, and would still be glad to hear from any other adults, for whom the preparation sessions start in May.

Youth Confirmation candidates (Year 6 +) will be expected to attend a series of eight preparation sessions.

For adults who are considering Confirmation, we shall be holding an opening session (to which Confirmation candidates from recent years are also invited).

Please contact the parish office for more information.

There will be a rehearsal for all candidates at 10 am on Saturday 30 June, 10.30am at St Luke’s Church, prior to the service on Sunday1 July.

Please speak to the clergy with any queries and contact the Parish Office .
